The cookie named "eRoom" is used to help us grant your access to webCafé sites; to permit or deny access to shared collaborative files and items as deemed appropriate by work groups; and to track your use of the service to aid in preparation of statistical reports for instructors in course-related sites, as well as for service administration purposes. The only information stored in the eRoom cookie that can be linked to your identity is your webCafé membership username, which for most users is the same as their Wharton computing account username (used in one format of the Wharton e-mail address). No cookie data is shared with external parties, and no third-party cookies are used in providing the webCafé service.

This data will be used by ourselves and our agents.
The following explanation is provided for why this data is collected:
webCafé is collaborative groupware used in Wharton courses, communities, research and administration. Your membership in webCafé sites is associated with the full name stored with your Wharton computing account. This association is known as your "member record." In addition to your name, our parent organization Wharton Computing provides us with data on your enrollment in courses; through group participation and service requests, we learn of your membership in particular organizations or ad-hoc groups that use this service. Through these sources, your member record is associated with webCafé sites, giving you membership in those sites. In a webCafé site, your name will be shown with comments you post, with files and items you own, in the site member list, and on statistical reports made available to instructors (only in course-related sites) and Wharton Computing technical staff (for purposes of administrating the webCafé service). Your e-mail address, as shown in the Wharton user directory, is included by default in your member record, but you may remove it (thus choosing not to receive e-mail associated with webCafé). You may also add a home page URL, organization name, or other descriptive information to your member record at your discretion. Outside of the context of webCafé sites, information you add to your member record is not shared with third parties outside of the University of Pennsylvania, except in cases where a member at of technical troubleshooting (where an outside vendor or consultant must be given access temporarily) or as required by law.

Only aggregate data, such as total numbers of accesses, users or sites, will ever be provided to external third parties.
